I was blessed by another amazing performance of my piece Hear Us by Saint Mark’s Cathedral Choir on March, 30 2025, equally as excellent as their initial performance in 2022. Check it out below!

I am so excited to finally share this short film by Ya'Ke Smith that I composed original music for called "Love is a Revolutionary Act." The 10-minute film is made up of five short animated vignettes that follow people as they lose love. The narrations come from real letters read by actors. Check it out!

LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT:

Word, deeds, choices and fate: there are many things worth fighting for, but love, the most revolutionary act there is, can conquer an empire. This short film is a multimedia map of personal tributes stitched together that detail the revolutionary nature of love through grief, pain, separation and ultimately spiritual transcendence. Because what is a love letter, if not a pledge of courage that transcends space and time?

I am so thrilled that another piece of mine, "Hear Us," is now playing on all major streaming outlets, (including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube). This song is my favorite piece I have ever written. Once again, John Stuntebeck (on organ), Michael Kleinschmidt and the Cathedral Choir at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Seattle gave an amazing performance in 2022, and I am so glad we were able to record the piece at the cathedral. I am also very happy the sheet music was published by PERIFERIA Music and Matt Johnston, which is where the beautiful cover artwork comes from. Thank you to everyone involved, especially Linton Powell and Kathy Fox Powell, who helped me craft the piece and gave the original performance at St. Marks Parish Choir in Arlington, Texas over a decade ago. Also, a shoutout to John Donne, who wrote the poem all the way back in the 1600s!

I am very happy to announce that my piece "A Hymn to God the Father" is now playing on all major streaming outlets (including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube). John Stuntebeck, Michael Kleinschmidt and the Cathedral Choir at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Seattle gave an amazing performance last March, and I am so glad we were able to record the piece. Thank you to everyone involved, especially the amazing singers in the choir and the supportive community at Saint Mark's, where I recorded this beautiful performance.
